Our client is seeking a Tax Assistant to join their small and friendly tax team within their accountancy practice in St Helens. Working hours are 9am - 5pm Mon-Thursday and 9am - 4pm Fridays. In return our client offers a friendly working environment, company pension, 28 days annual leave plus 2-3 additional days as the office closes for Christmas.
You will have manage your own portfolio of 250 - 300 cases preparing personal tax returns and corporation tax portfolios, handling a mixture of sole traders, clients with rental portfolios or capital gains tax and corporation tax portfolios. You will be responsible for managing your own clients and meetings deadlines. Your role will involve preparing tax computations for the accounts department, preparing the final computation and returns, and meeting filing and payment deadlines. You will have a small portfolio of P11D returns.
Candidates should have at least two years experience in the profession, with either an ATT or be qualified by experience.
