Our growing North West based IT consultancy client is seeking a Line 3 Service Desk Engineer to join their customer focused team, working 42.5 hour week, Mon to Fri, 08.30 to 17.30 with flexibility to work outside of those hours for project work. This role will be 80% office based and 20% field based. In return they offer 22 days annual leave (increasing to 27) plus bank holidays plus Birthday day off, Buy/sell annual leave (2 days per year), Book annual leave in hours for extra flexibility, Pension scheme, Well being scheme and Free parking onsite.

Our client offers IT services to SME businesses covering implementation and ongoing administration and support including:

  • Server (physical and virtual)/ Desktop / Laptop
  • Office 365
  • Back up and security services
  • Networking
  • Duties will include:

  • Resolving critical / P1 incidents and the most complex tickets
  • Being the last escalation point
  • Supporting and mentoring line 1 / 2 engineer colleagues
  • Auditing customer sites and producing the essential IT reference documentation (Network diagrams, server builds, software installation)
  • Maintaining IT reference documentation
  • Documenting trouble shooting methods and solutions in the IT knowledge base
  • Raising issues with 3rd party providers, escalating as needed and keeping customers informed
  • Adhering to the essential security policies and protocols
  • Maintaining accurate ticket records and customer data in the internal systems
  • Skills and Experience


  • Line 3 level B2B IT Support and customer service experience gained in a reseller / MSP environment
  • Specialism in Office 365 including SharePoint
  • IT security – endpoint and network solutions
  • MCSA or MCSE accredited
  • Producing and maintaining technical documentation
  • Good standard of general education (9 GCSE’s grade A-C or equivalent)
  • Computer literate - MS Office Suite
  • Full, clean driving licence and own car for site visits (business insurance, claim business mileage)
  • Desirable

  • Sophos, StorageCraft Backup software, vSphere 5.5 and 6, Powershell, Citrix XenApp, Cisco / Juniper, Linux / Unix, Azure / AWS
